We encourage everyone to help realize the vision of the San Dieguito River Park by becoming active stewards of the natural resources, trails and cultural treasures it offers. If you have a special interest in the River Park or talent you would like to share, we welcome you to contact us! Or join us at one of our upcoming volunteer events and learn how we are helping enhance and maintain the beautiful native landscapes that make the River Park a wonderful place to visit and a healthy home for wildlife.
Many of our activities are suitable for any age. If your school, community service organization or company would like to volunteer as a group, please contact us or call (858) 755-6956 to schedule a special work event.
There are many ways to volunteer! Read here about how you can get involved…
We host monthly habitat restoration work events in the San Dieguito Lagoon and the surrounding upland areas in the western end of the River Park. This type of work consists of removing non-native plants, site preparation, planting natives or caring for newly established vegetation. Visit our Volunteer Events page for upcoming dates.
Work with the Rangers
The San Dieguito River Park rangers need volunteers to help with habitat restoration, trail maintenance, construction of new trails and other projects. Regularly scheduled work events are listed in the River Park’s quarterly Activity Calendar. Scouts and scout groups are also welcome to contact the rangers for information about current projects.
