Guided Hikes

Throughout the month, the River Park, San Diego County, and other organizations host guided hikes where you can discover more about the local habitats and enjoy the River Park. Hikes may range from relaxing bird walks in the San Dieguito Lagoon to more strenuous treks in the foothills.

Yoga at the San Dieguito Lagoon – Every third Sunday – 10:00 AM

Join us for a coastal yoga sesh at the San Dieguito Lagoon Open Air Classroom. All yoga levels welcome. Bring a mat. Instructor: Susan McCrea. Directions to Birdwing Open Air Classroom: From I-5, Take Via de la Valle exit and go east. Turn south on San Andres Drive and turn left into driveway to parking area.


Trail Maintenance and Habitat Restoration

Monthly habitat restoration and trail maintenance projects offer a great way for older kids to earn community service credit, for high school and college students to gain valuable skills and field experience, and for anyone to support the River Park and its conservation efforts.

Trail Maintenance Events – every 2nd Sunday, 8:00 – 11:00 am

Habitat Restoration Events – every 3rd Saturday, 8:00 – 11:00 am
