Clevenger Canyon to Boden Canyon Trail
Clevenger Canyon and Boden Canyon are major features in the central portion of the River Park, sporting rugged hillsides, lush riparian ribbons and uninterrupted stretches of chaparral. Additionally, the Department of Fish and Game manages three ecological preserves in Boden Canyon.
In 2008, the Conservancy funded a preliminary feasibility study for a connection between the Clevenger Canyon North staging area to the entrance to Boden Canyon, both on Highway 78 east of Escondido. The study identified three alternatives for the 0.75-mile trail connection in this steep and challenging area along Santa Ysabel Creek. Further study will be needed to determine the preferred route. The San Dieguito River Park will take the lead on obtaining an engineering design for the proposed connection and permits in the future.

How Can You Help
Construction of many of the remaining segments of the Coast-to-Crest Trail will cost a significant amount of money due to rugged terrain. If you would like to help, please visit our Support Us page and earmark your contribution for trail development through our Trails Acceleration Fund, or if you would like more information, please contact the Conservancy directly.
